2008 is a key year for FEMA: it will celebrate a double anniversary!
20 years ago, the Federation of European Motorcyclists (FEM) – the first organisation representing road riders in Europe - was created. 10 years ago, the Federation of European Motorcyclists (FEM) and the European Motorcyclists’ Association (EMA) fused to become FEMA.
FEMA celebrates 20 years of active representation in Brussels, promoting and defending motorcycling in Europe: A look at the past to better face new challenges.

| 2/02/2008 | FEMA elects new President The Federation of European Motorcyclists’ Associations (FEMA) warmly welcomes Hans Petter Strifeldt as its new President. The former Chairman of the Norsk Motorcykkel Union (NMCU) was unanimously elected by FEMA’s national members at their Annual General Meeting on Saturday 2 February. | 10/01/2008 | FEM and EMA joined forces 10 years ago On 10 January 1998, the Federation of European Motorcyclists (FEM) and the European Motorcyclists Associations (EMA) merged. A new Federation was born: The Federation of European Motorcyclists Associations (FEMA). This event marked an important milestone in the history of motorcyclists’ representation. Realising they shared common interests, the two associations joined their forces to protect, preserve and promote motorcycling and motorcyclists’ interests in Europe and beyond. |

It focuses on the creation of the Federation and the developments in Europe.A new chapter will be published every month until July 2008, in order to offer a detailed overview of FEMA's history. |
